So it's summer, and of course with the beautiful weather who wants to sit inside scrapping? That sounds like a good excuse why I haven't gotten anything done doesn't it? Right, we'll go with that then. Anyways, I finally finished Lisa's challenge and even did one other layout, look at me go! That's about all I have managed, pathetic I know. My scrap room is a mess and I can't even bring myself to look at it, nevermind start to organize it, so my scrapping has come to a grinding halt, which is depressing me. sigh. I am sure one day I will work up the energy to tackle it but goodness knows when. Meanwhile i'll just continue to stalk all your blogs and look at your wonderful pages with envy and longing. Later.

So I have done almost no scrapping at all since NSD. Sucky deal. I have done one page, and invitations for the kids bday parties and that is about it. i am not even done the Home LO for Lisa's challenge. I have it all laid out and everything but I am waiting for a photo, so i am stuck on that too. I need something to get me going, scrapbook-wise. I think Vee has the right idea, going to TM for a Saturday, then maybe i could find some motivation! Anyways here are the invites I did and my one measley layout!

So the LNC at TM on Saturday night rocked! I had so much fun, and kudos to the girls at TM for all your hard work! Veronica, Nadine and Karen were so funny " We're making memories here!" So after being in the shop for almost a month, I now have my laptop back! YEAH!!!! With a new hard-drive and main board. Whatever that is. So technologically stunted. Anyways, sad thing is i haven't even done much scrapping lately either. Just a few layout to post, hopefully I'll get lots done at TM next Saturday. I finished Lisa's challenge and can't wait for the next one!

I have to say....loved this kit! It was so fun scrapping photos of myself as a little girl! And over the course of the last week I have slowly been getting back into scrapping, now that I am done painting! Of course now Paige wants her room done, so who knows how long that will take! Anyways, here is my layout............

So I haven't been doing much scrapbooking lately, want to know why? Because I am a crazy person. When my 7 year old son says " Mom, can we paint my room? " I say " Sure, what color? " and then he says " Camouflage! ". Yeah. So like the fool that I am I agree and so for the last 2 weeks that is all I have been doing. Granted I could have done it in less time, but after awhile you get tired of looking at spots. So here is the finish product - and take my advice, DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!

So I spent Saturday at TM with all the girls to celebrate Veronica's 25th birthday ( again ) and it was awesome! Neon pink cupcakes and goodie bags full of cookies - Nadine Rocks! woo hoo! Didn't get too many pages finished, but it was great just spending the day chatting and laughing with the girls! Here is what I did get done.

And no I don't mean myself! I just got the second of Lisa's fab kits and they so rock! It takes me no time at all to scrapbook when I use her kits. It usually takes me forever to do a page, so maybe my problem is I think to much ( ha!). Anyways, here it is.

I know I haven't posted in a long time, but those of you who know me know my 6 month old laptop recently went kaplooie. So I am not happy and our old computer is slow and ancient! But I will try to be better, promise!

So yesterday I picked up Lisa's kit from TM and took it home and immediatly got to work! Loved it! So not colors or patterns I would normally use, but I was inspired, which I think was Lisa's point. So I finished the layout in record time, usually it takes me days of thinking and pondering and revising before I finally finish a layout, but this was so awesome, so many choices already made for me. Did I mention I LOVED IT? lol Anyways, here is the final product.

That's my friend Cindy, but everyone calls her Cyn, and on MSN and other interent places she calls herself Cynful. Anyways I have had this photo for a few months but wasn't sure what to do with it. This so rocked!

Okay so 2008 has arrived. I have no resolutions, or at least no new ones. The basics still apply, eat better, lose weight, generally be a better person, try not to be a slacker in numerous different areas, yadda yadda. The same things I try to reaffirm on a daily basis, to varying degrees of success. But what can you do but keep trying? Anyways, I guess one new thing I would like to add is to scrap more. I am in such a rut lately, it not only takes me forever to get started but when I do it seems all my pages look the same. I am having issues with teal and pink right now. Everytime I try to change to a different color, they sneak up and take over my page! Here is my latest effort, see what I mean?

So while I think I have somewhat embraced the computer/blog/facebook electronic mania, I don't think there is any way I could ever become a digital scrapbooker. Not only would I probably toss my computer out the window at some point, I love the whole creative process of being a " paper " scrapbooker. I love printing my photos and shopping for supplies and laying out absolutely everything I have that may or may not go with the page I am working on until I find the perfect thing to go with it. I LOVE going scrapping with my friends, sometimes it seems like I talk more than scrap, but love it anyways. Don't think I could ever give it up to sit at my computer by myself. But that's just me, I know there are plenty of digital scrapbooker's out there, and I am totally jealous sometimes of the wonderful pages they make. I just know I couldn't do it. Anyways, here are a few of my more recent pages, thanks to Lisa for the title!

So, I just got back from Winnipeg. I went for a quick visit, a break, a mini holiday just for me. And it was fun, I hung out with my girls, my best bud Cyn, my family and that was great. Cyn and I went out dancing and drinking, got a little disorderly. It was like a flashback to what my life was like before. Before I met Barry, before I had kids, before I moved away. I think about that time in my life all the time, and I thought I was really missing it. Turns out now that I basically went back to that time, it wasn't so great. Yeah I did have alot of fun, but it also made me realize how much I have now. Awesome husband, who yes gets on my nerves sometimes, but awesome none the less, beautiful kids, who while rambunctious and loud remind me how amazing life can be when you let go of all the crap. Yes I know we all have days where we feel like we should have or be doing more - maybe it's just me - but hopfully now I will have more days where I realize how much I do have and not focus so much on what I thinkis missing.
Here's hoping.

Lately I feel as if I have lost myself, or my mind at least. I cannot seem to focus on anything, become easily distracted, lose track of time. I feel like I am someone else. Somedays that isn't a bad thing - being someone else every once and awhile, but on an everyday basis it is becoming more and more frustrating. It is especially frustrating right now as I am temporarily a single parent and everything in our house now rests on my shoulders. I have never been a planner or someone who schedules every moment of the day, but more and more I am thinking I may have to take such drastic measures simply in order to survive. So if you see me somewhere with a dazed and lost expression one my face, please take pity on me and point me in the right direction!

Back agin.....for now anyways.

Alright, alright, I promised Vee I would update my blog. So here I am after months and months of being MIA. What can I say, I have never been a technologically adept person. Though I think it has less to do with the technology and more to do with the fact that I have a hard time with daily routines. All the time I say, oh I can do that, drink more water, remember to take my vitamins, use skin cream before bed, how hard is that, it only takes a few minutes everyday! But after 2 or 3 or the odd time I may make it a whole week before it slips off my radar and becomes another of those things I feel bad about not doing because I should be able to do it, it's easy. Man. So blogging I think is another one of those things, before I know it it has been days, weeks or yes I know months since the last time I updated my blog.
Excuses, excuses I know. But I will try, I promise since this seems to be one of the best ways to keep in touch with my "scrap friends" whom I treasure and miss. So I'll try.

Where have I been?

I know, I know, it's been ages since I have posted! And yet it seems like time just flies by. I have such a problem with time lately. I know I am very fortunate to not have to work, but it seems like my days just fly by and I am not sure how other people with children and jobs and all the other things that need doing, do it. And it makes me feel guilty that I can't even handle my small "easy" life. I get up, take kids to school, some days one, other days both, do errands or shopping, pick up one kid somedays, go home have lunch, do house stuff, (laundry etc.), pick up other kid, go home, make supper, do homework or baths, put kids to bed, maybe have some me time, go to bed. Boring and predictable and small. But yet I feel rushed all the time! Homeworks due tomorrow? What to have for supper that I can make now and not have to defrost? I have no ability to plan ahead is my biggest problem I guess. It just wears me out. Yet another item to add to my list of self-improvements, right under "Lose weight" and "Be more patient" (you've all met my kids)! lol

I just read Lisa's blog and I am so there. I have been thinking alot lately about the whole resolution thing and about what I would like to change in my life. My biggest thing is connecting with people - I think. It is too easy for me to get caught up in the day to day family life that before I know it, it has been weeks since I talk to any of my friends and I think "I should call them tomorrow". Then tomorrow comes and there is more stuff to do and I keep putting it off longer and longer and then suddenly I wonder why am I so lonely? It's nobody's fault but mine. So my resolution is to be a better friend, to stay connected, to make time for all the other relationships in my life besides my husband and children. So Lisa when you call to chat, I will totally go along, if you'll do the same for me! And to all my friends near and far - Merry Christmas!

I love Christmas, really I do. But when did it become so much work? I am so tired and it's still 5 days away! Everytime I turn around there is something else that needs to be done, or bought, or cleaned.
